Please read these terms of service carefully before using CardSheet.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using CardSheet, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Service Description

CardSheet is a web-based service that converts PDF credit card statements into structured spreadsheet data using AI technology. The service includes:

  • AI-powered extraction of transaction data from PDF statements
  • Automatic categorization and merchant name recognition
  • Export to CSV and Excel formats
  • Transaction history and spending insights

Use of Service

You agree to:

  • Use the service only for lawful purposes
  • Only upload credit card statements that belong to you or that you are authorized to access
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Not upload malicious files or content
  • Not share your account credentials with others
  • Not use the service to process statements for commercial resale without our permission

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Data Processing & Security

When you upload a statement, here's what happens:

  • Upload: Your PDF is encrypted and temporarily stored on our secure servers
  • Processing: Our AI extracts transaction data from the statement
  • Storage: Only the extracted transaction data is stored permanently
  • Deletion: The original PDF file is automatically deleted immediately after processing

Security commitment: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We never share your financial data with third parties for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

AI Processing Disclaimer

We use AI technology (Anthropic Claude) to process your statements. While we strive for high accuracy:

  • We do not guarantee 100% accuracy in transaction extraction
  • You should review all extracted data before using it for financial decisions
  • AI-generated categories and merchant names may require manual correction
  • Your data is not used to train AI models

Payment and Subscriptions

CardSheet offers free and paid subscription tiers:

  • Free: 12 pages lifetime limit
  • Personal ($9/month): 50 pages per month
  • Pro ($19/month): 150 pages per month

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your access continues until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the free tier after your subscription ends
  • Your transaction data is preserved (you can export it anytime)

Refunds

Refunds are provided on a case-by-case basis. If you're unsatisfied with the service within 7 days of your first payment, contact us at hello@cardsheet.app for a full refund.

Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all data you upload and the transaction data we extract. We retain ownership of the CardSheet service, including all software, algorithms, and user interface designs. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the service.

Service Availability

We aim to provide 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may temporarily suspend service for maintenance, upgrades, or security reasons. We will attempt to provide advance notice for planned maintenance.

Limitation of Liability

CardSheet is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on extracted transaction data

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CardSheet from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these terms of service
  • You engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Your payment method fails and is not resolved within 14 days

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Upon account closure:

  • All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
  • You can request an export of your data before closing your account

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where CardSheet operates. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
